What We Do I. H. Schwartz Center for Children
The I.H. Schwartz Center for Children recently moved from its modest dwelling on Rockdale Avenue in New Bedford to a much larger site in a country-like setting in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The The Robert F. Stoico/FIRSTFED Charitable Foundation helped their campaign with a grant of $100,000 to help build the new center. A kind benefactor donated the land to the Schwartz Center after reading an article in the newspaper about its mission – to help disabled kids and their families by providing a loving atmosphere with state of the art equipment – all the services usually found in a big city, but close to home.
